Winter clothing drive delivers blankets to vulnerable families
January's cold wave moved quickly and so did we. Working with ward-level volunteers, the foundation distributed blankets and warm clothing to families in low-income settlements where shanties become near-unlivable in winter.
Priority was given to the elderly, infants and young children and people with chronic illness — those who face the season at highest risk. Volunteers made door-to-door visits so that home-bound residents were not left out.
We remain grateful to the collectors who gave good-quality, gently used clothing and to the donors whose contributions purchased new blankets at bulk fair prices.
Winter is fast, but so is goodwill when neighbours act together.
