Islamic education

Accessible Quranic, Arabic-literacy and Islamic studies classes for children and adults — taught with care, in neighbourhoods people can reach.

Islamic education

Education is a trust

Education sits at the heart of the Rahmania mission. We believe knowledge — beginning with the ability to read the Quran and to learn one's faith soundly — is a right every child and adult should hold, whatever their family's income.

Our Islamic education program runs small, neighbourhood-based classes so that children (and often their parents) can learn close to home, after school hours, in a safe and encouraging environment.

What a class looks like

  • A small group of learners with an attentive teacher — never overcrowded.
  • A gentle beginning: Arabic alphabet and phonetic reading, then tajweed and guided memorisation at each learner's own pace.
  • Essential Islamic knowledge: prayer, purification, good character and the etiquette of daily life.
  • Literacy support where needed, so that every learner can read confidently.

The difference

Several of our first cohort have since progressed to memorising the Quran and helping teach younger children in their own neighbourhoods. When a student becomes a teacher, the charity multiplies.

How you can help

  • Sponsor a child's class fees for a term.
  • Donate textbooks, prayer mats, or study materials.
  • Support teacher honorariums for a dedicated class or madrasa.

Your support keeps the doors of learning open for families who would otherwise be left out.
